The Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) is a standardized test specially designed for the graduates who are willing to pursue business programs overseas, specifically MBA. Conducted and administered by the Graduate Management Admission Council, it is widely accepted by all business schools across the globe. The is designed to by comprising four areas namely; Analytical Writing Assessment, Integrated Reasoning, Quantitative, and Verbal. All these areas assesses your specific skills like critical thinking, data analysis, comprehension, and problem-solving that are needed for business and management.

GMAT also follows an adaptive nature wherein the level of difficulty is adjusted itself based on an examinee’s performance. The adaptive nature of the exam helps in getting a precise idea about the ability and helps you decide the proficiency level.

As mentioned earlier, the GMAT is divided into four areas; each component holds a specific time limit.

• Analytical Writing Assessment – 30 minutes will be given to complete this section wherein you will have to write an essay.

• Integrated Reasoning – Comprising of different types like graphics, interpretation, multi-source reasoning, and table analysis, where you will have to answer 12 questions within 30 minutes.

• Quantitative – Section covers your mathematical skills with 31 questions for 62 minutes.

• Verbal – Section covers reading comprehension and critical reason, with 36 questions for 65 minutes.

GMAT Score is assessed on a scale of 200 to 800 wherein Quantitative and Verbal contribute the major part, while the AWA is separately assessed on a scale of 0 – 6, and IR on the scale of 1 to 8.
